Iran Touring and Tourism Investment Company
Iran Touring and Tourism Investment Company, based on a decision by the Special Representatives of the Honorable President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, was mandated to transfer, on an equal basis, the ownership rights of the Iran Touring and Tourism Organization and the Government with respect to assets and properties, as well as all related rights and privileges, liabilities, facilities and equipment, lands, accommodation, catering, recreational and sports premises, and also the shares of the said organization in the Iran Guesthouse Development Company, to the Civil Service Pension Fund and the Social Security Organization. To this end, and in line with fulfilling the directives of the Special Representatives of the Honorable President, in mid-2000 (1379 in the Iranian calendar) the Iran Tourism and Travel Investment Company was established with the following objectives: Providing administrative, financial, and managerial services, as well as overseeing the construction, acquisition, leasing, operation, sale, and maintenance of any tourism and travel facilities, including hotels, restaurants, resorts, and similar establishments.
Taking measures to attract domestic and international tourists and travelers.
Organizing domestic and international tours, including special tours for national retirees.
Constructing and operating urban and intercity restaurants.
Investing, partnering, and attracting domestic and foreign capital.
Immediately after its establishment and the organization of its affairs, Iran Tourism and Travel Investment Company took the first practical step, following the legal and financial stabilization of its ownership of the aforementioned properties, facilities, and assets, by forming the country’s first and largest chain of hospitality and catering services under the commercial title Iran Tourism and Travel Hotels Group.
Given the wide geographic distribution of the group’s accommodation and catering units across the country, the aim is to expand both the quantity and quality of services, leveraging experienced and capable human resources to extend the group’s effective presence nationwide. By entering the arena of international tourism, the group seeks to introduce diverse cultural sites and attractions and take active steps toward the development of sustainable tourism. Currently, the group operates 49 active hotels and three restaurants.
Some of the actions taken in recent years: Following the renaming of the Iran Touring and Tourism Organization and its transformation into a company, the government budget previously allocated to the organization was removed. As a result, Iran Touring Company, as an economic and revenue-generating entity, must not only cover its own operational costs but also pursue profitability. The profits generated are intended, like those of other affiliated entities, to contribute toward the payment of retirees’ pensions. Over 80% of the hotels have been continuously renovated, refurbished, and upgraded multiple times during the 40 years following the Revolution. Increasing accommodation capacity by constructing rooms, banquet halls, and restaurants in many tourism complexes across Iran, such as Jahanguardi Hotel, Migun, Zahedan, Larestan, Jolfa, Sirjan, Shiraz, and Iran Gardi Hotel No. 2 in Kerman, among others.
Providing accommodation services to national retirees with a 50% discount in Iran Gardi and Jahanguardi hotels.
Achieving recognition and quality upgrades, with 12 hotels having successfully earned star ratings and improved their classification to date. Fifteen more hotels are currently under development, and by increasing their star ratings, the diversity and quality of services will be further enhanced. Continuous training and development of the company’s human resources, including various courses in hospitality, organizational excellence, and management programs.
Obtaining licenses for categories A, B, and P and establishing a travel agency and tourism services company adjacent to the National Retirement Organization, serving as the exclusive operator of tours for national retirees.
Establishing travel service offices in provincial cities and launching the Iran Touring Travel Agency in Tehran to organize tours, hotel and ticket reservations, and special tours for national retirees.
