According to Hegta Public Relations, Alireza Tabesh, CEO of Social Security Tourism Holding (Hegta), announced the holding of the first international conference on medical tourism investment opportunities in Khorramshahr and Abadan.<\/p>\n
Regarding this conference, which is to be held by Hegta Holding, he said: “Khuzestan Province, with its strategic location in proximity to neighboring countries, especially Iraq, has unparalleled capacities in the field of health tourism. For this reason, Hegta Holding has planned to hold the international pre-conference on investment opportunities in the health tourism industry in February of this year in Tehran and the main conference in May 1404 in Khorramshahr.” <\/p>\n
Tabesh continued: “Health tourism is one of the strategic areas in the global economy that can generate sustainable and significant income for the country. Iran, with its experienced doctors, advanced medical centers, and competitive medical costs, has the potential to become one of the main health tourism destinations in the region. This conference is an opportunity to introduce these capacities well.” He clarified: “These events are designed in line with the country’s macro policies and with the emphasis of the Honorable Minister of Cooperation, Labor, and Social Welfare. The main goal is to strengthen economic relations and tourism diplomacy, especially with neighboring countries and the southern bloc. Our plan is to introduce the capacities of Khuzestan Province in health tourism and expand regional and international interactions with the presence of national and provincial officials, international companies, specialist doctors, and domestic and foreign investors.”<\/p>\n
The CEO of Hegta Holding stated that the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Iranian missions abroad is very important for holding these conferences as magnificently as possible, and stated: Targeted information dissemination, inviting reputable international experts and companies, facilitating visa matters and issuing invitations for foreign guests, as well as media and advertising support are among the measures that we hope will be carried out well with the cooperation of this ministry. <\/p>\n
Tabesh added: We are trying to show the capabilities of Khuzestan Province in providing medical services and attracting foreign investment. Also, creating a network of international cooperation, strengthening health diplomacy, and promoting Iran’s position in the region as a leading destination in health tourism are other goals of this conference. <\/p>\n
Emphasizing that we are trying to form a new discourse called the “Health-oriented Coalition”, he clarified: This discourse is designed to promote scientific, cultural, and academic cooperation. With the participation of domestic and foreign scientific and academic institutions, we can provide an opportunity for the sustainable development of health tourism. <\/p>\n
The CEO of Hegta Holding continued: “One of the main focuses of these conferences is to attract domestic and foreign investors to develop health tourism infrastructure in Khuzestan. We have identified the potential capacities of this province and we intend to introduce these capacities to international companies.” <\/p>\n
Abash said: One of the side programs of the conference is to organize tours for foreign guests to visit hospitals, clinics and residential centers in Khuzestan. These tours will be a good opportunity to get to know our country’s capabilities in this field. <\/p>\n

Tabesh believes that attracting foreign investors is crucial for the health tourism industry to flourish. This conference is an opportunity to introduce investment-ready projects in this field to international companies and investors. The infrastructure that will be created with these funds will play an important role in the sustainable development of this industry. He stated: One of the main shortcomings in Iran\u2019s health tourism industry is the lack of sufficient budget for marketing and advertising. This conference can provide solutions for using new advertising tools, such as social media and cooperation with global influencers. <\/p>\n
Field visit to Khorramshahr and medical infrastructure<\/b><\/p>\n
A planning meeting for the National Medical Tourism Conference was held before visiting the infrastructure of the Arvand Free Zone and meeting with the Governor of Khuzestan, with the presence of Alireza Tabesh, CEO of the National Social Security Tourism Holding (HGT), Shahin Hashemi, Acting Governor of Khorramshahr, Mostafa Motourzadeh, representative of the people of Khorramshahr and Minusheh in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Deputy Director General of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism of Khuzestan Province, and a group of tourism and health activists at the Khorramshahr Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n
